IOS Upgrades
Please do not upgrade your IOS version during an active project. We take great care to pre-empt problems with upgrades but it can take weeks or even months before IOS bugs are identified and addressed by Apple.

    Testing, testing, testing …

After months of testing Version 2 is finally here. I’ve learnt a lot in the past year; about memory (the computer kind rather than my ailing human version), source code, upload speeds and mainly that fake continuity is about three times more boring than real continuity. I’ve fought to mimic every variable I can think of, importing old projects from an iPad 3, editing them, exporting them and reimporting them into an iPad air before sending them via airdrop to a mini…Creating countless new projects using punctuation and symbols instead of letters, the internal camera, imported photos and then ones grabbed from the internet. What I’ve really learnt during this daunting process of trying to render the app bug free, is that it is impossible to identify every random combination of circumstances that makes up you, our users. For example, at one point the app was crashing every time I tried to add a photo from my imported pictures, and it turned out it was because I had two empty photo albums in my iPhotos.

So it turns out that the set of actions leading to a bug can be as specific and individual as whether the iPad is portrait or landscape, or whether you happen to have made a photo album elsewhere and decided not to use it. I know now that Continuity Pro will never be bug free, but for the first time I feel like we’re 99% there. And truthfully the app is running with renewed speed and stability having proved itself recently when I ran my file on The Woman in Black:Angel of Death.

Whilst I’m confident that you will find version 2 intuitive and straight forward, if you experience a problem (however small or seemingly insignificant) please get in touch via the website and let us know, as specifically as you can, the steps leading up to your problem and the model and available memory of the iPad you are using. An example of testing mania…
